Bioidentical Hormones

What are they?

Bioidentical hormones (Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy-BHRT) refers to the use of hormones that are identical, on a molecular level, with endogenous hormones in hormone replacement therapy.

BHRT is used to reduce the symptoms of menopause. It is also promoted by some practitioners for anti-aging purposes and as providing benefits beyond menopausal symptom relief—claiming to improve the quality of life.
